1st Annual Tri-Fit Clinic - Saturday Jan.7, 2012
Have you been chasing that elusive next “personal best” performance? Planning to get faster in 2012 but not sure how? Or, are you new to the sport of triathlon and looking for expert advice?
Check out the Tri-Fit Clinic on Saturday January 7th, 2012 at the SHAW Centre.
Get off on the right foot with your preparations for the 2012 season with individual assessments in swim, bike, run, strength and flexibility from local experts all in one place, for one low price.
The Tri-Fit Clinic includes the following individual assessments, instruction and corrective drills:
- Swim stroke assessment by NCCP Certified Level 3 triathlon coach Carly Priebe of Transition Sport & Fitness.
- Rudimentary bike fit assessment by the F.I.S.T. certified bike fit experts from The Bike Doctor.
- Running Gait analysis by physiotherapist and running expert Brad Spokes of ZONE Sports Physiotherapy.
- Strength and Flexibility assessment by exercise physiologist Jolene Koenders of ZONE Sports Physiotherapy.
- Running shoe assessment by shoe fit expert Ian Colvine of Brainsport.

Clinic format
Participants move from one expert station to another in 16 minute intervals with a 4 minute transition to the next station.
Each expert will individually assess your current skill set and provide feedback which may include corrective drills or instruction that you can incorporate into your training plans for the 2012 season.
Within 1 hour and 40 minutes, you will have a complete basic triathlon assessment to guide your training plans in the New Year.
At the end of the day there will be an off-site wrap-up social at Cafe Sola, where the experts will summarize the most common issues assessed throughout the day and give collective feedback for improvements in a fun group atmosphere.
Participants will register for an assessment time slot with our experts through Active.com. Registrants must have a valid STAC membership to participate. Why?
What you need to bring
Please being the following:
- proof of STAC membership (your membership card)
- proof of STCI membership (your membership card)
- swimming gear
- bike gear
- running gear
with you as this will be necessary for each of the assessments. There will be volunteers on hand to help speed the transitions from one station to the next.
Fees
STCI is pleased to offer the Tri-Fit Clinic at a cost of $125 for STCI members (this includes Active.com fees); a fraction of the cost of these services when purchased through each vendor separately.
